How to Make Toast

Toast

Okay so I am writing this as a practice article for the upcoming Apprenticeship Program with Hubpages.
There are many types of toast that is for sure. How one chooses to make toast can vary from using the classical toaster to toasting bread on a grill. Toast can be fun if you have a special toaster that burns images into the slice of bread you are using. I've even seen a Darth Vadar image toaster

Step 1:`Get Some Bread

You will need a slice of bread. The type of bread can be of any type of sliced bread. Potato bread, rye bread, wheat bread, white bread, sourdough bread, Texas loaf bread, raisin bread, cinnamon bread... there are many types of bread there to pick from.
In this case I used some standard white bread.

Step 2: Use a Toaster or Toasting Device

Have a toaster, a grill, or even and oven with a broil setting. Yes as it was pointed out to me, not everyone has a toaster. I never realized just how many people don't have toasters. I've gotten all mine from the Goodwill. They are usually pretty good still and will last a long time.
You can toast bread in a pan on high heat. You can also toast bread using the broil setting for a minute or two then turning it over to toast the other side. You must be careful when you turn over your bread. You can also toast bread on the BBQ grill.

Use The Toasting Dial or Watch The Time!

Use a timer or use the toaster toasting dial to make sure you toast is just right. If using the oven time it for a minute thirty seconds. Check the toast for a golden brown color. A burnt smell means the toast is being heated to the point of burning. At this time it is a good idea to end the toasting or have burnt to a crispy black wafer toast.

Have Your Toppings

We use butter, real butter. Some of our friends use margarine or cream cheese spreads. Some people cover their toast with eggs both over easy and scrambled. Other people love to spread their toast with jam or jelly. My mother would spread marmalade over her toast. Other people use Nuttela a hazelnut based coco spread. Others use peanut butter. You can also put brown sugar and cinnamon on your toast and have cinnamon toast. You can pretty much put tons of toppings on toast. One of my favorite things is to make toast for my tuna fish sandwiches and to eat BLT or Bacon Lettuce and Tomato sandwiches. Toast is such a versatile food and can help satisfy that hunger craving in the morning.

Careful When Your Toast is Done

Toast is coming out of a red hot environment and will be heated to a high temperature and can burn your hands when it first gets done. Wait about thirty seconds before you reach for your toast. You still want it warm to melt your toppings but not so hot that it burns your fingers.

Enjoy Your Toast

You are almost done, spread your toppings over your nice warm piece of toast. Cut the toast up, put your eggs over it, eat it plain... do what you will with your toast but most of all enjoy it! You toasted that piece of bread, you cooked it to perfection and now it belongs in your stomach to fill you with satisfaction and a feeling of fulfillment. You enjoy your toast.
