5 Reasons To Quit Drinking Soda - What They Won't Advertise

Thirst Quencher?

Soda is inescapable in our modern world. There are tons of television advertisements, magazines, and everything in between trying to get us to purchase this aging in a can. There are plenty of reasons not to give in to this sugary and empty beverage and they are reasons concerning your well being. Find out why quitting the soda can benefit your life and free you from a terrible habit.

Dehydrating

No other beverage is more dehydrating for your body than a can of soda. Sodas usually contain such a high sugar content and acidity that it does the exact opposite for you then what intended for. Consuming the sugars will make your body go into a sort of defensive mode, your kidneys will go into overdrive to expel the excess sugar from your blood. It will increase urination in the process, further eliminating fluids from your body leaving you dehydrated.

Diet Is Deadly

Don't think you are getting a leg up on the habit by switching to diet, studies are showing it's just as bad if not worse for your health. Aspartame is the name of the artificial sweetener they use to still make it appear normal. It is actually 200 times sweeter than regular sugar but it is basically a poison to our bodies. It is a man made chemical shown to cause serious harm to our cells. Reason is simple, it's not natural and our bodies are.

Weight Gain And Cell Damage

Drinking soda and its high fructose corn syrup, high sugar, and empty calories will end up causing damage to your body by hindering your metabolism over time. Diet with the artificial sweeteners have even been linked to brain cell damage, you read that correct, brain cell damage, and even hyperactivity and nervousness. The caffeine content is also negative especially for children and young teens. Over consumption of caffeinated sodas early in developing years can lead to possible dependencies on the drug later in life.

Alternatives

When we drink soda we are basically wasting our time on an empty beverage which not only corrodes our teeth, but the high sugars can do a number on our physical appearance. Our bodies reject such a high amount and because of this it causes stress to our cells even leading to damage. Try to phase out soda from your daily diet and switch over to either a sparkling water beverage, a natural juice, organic milk, plain spring water, or any other healthy alternatives. At the end of the day when it comes to mind what we drank for the day, it will sound a thousand times better we had these choices compared to soda.

Impairs Our Organs

Soda consumption has been linked to having negative effects to our digestive system as well as our liver. This is because soda is the most acidic beverage on earth with a pH level of 2.5. We don't notice this though because of the numerous ingredients they toss in. Pure water has a pH level of 7. Because of the high acidity, our stomachs become under tremendous pressure to digest and breakdown the drink. It sends the natural acids in your stomach and the phosphoric acid in the soda into a competition which leads to damaging effects on your digestive health.

Difficult But Attainable

Giving up soda can be a challenging mental task and your body will display physical withdrawal symptoms, but it will not last long enough to be of concern. In order for our bodies to run smoothly and have lasting long life, we have to seriously put special attention on what we put in. Your body will adjust to giving it up and it will be worth it.
